"The longest tunnel along the Yangtze River" was successfully completed

The largest diameter shield tunnel in Hunan-Changsha Xiangya Road Tunnel
Changsha Xiangya Road Cross-River Tunnel is an important cross-river channel connecting the east and west banks of the Xiangjiang River. It consists of a tunnel and a surface road. The river-crossing section of the tunnel is constructed using the shield tunneling method, with a length of 1,429 meters, an outer diameter of the segment of 14.5 meters, an inner diameter of 13.3 meters, a minimum soil covering thickness of 15.4 meters in the land section, a minimum soil covering thickness in the river of 8.7 meters, a maximum burial depth of 30.9 meters, and a minimum curve radius 840 meters, with a maximum longitudinal slope of 50%. The shield machine is a super-large diameter mud-water balance shield machine produced by China Railway Construction Heavy Industry. The excavation diameter of the cutterhead is 15.01 meters. The total length of the main engine is 130 meters. The total weight is 4100 tons and the total installed power is 9500kw. The maximum designed pressure bearing capacity is 8bar.
